The name Elkumene reflects our heart and mission: El comes from Elohim, a Hebrew term used in the Bible to refer to God, especially in the creation account of Genesis. Kumene echoes the Greek word oikoumene, meaning “the whole inhabited world”—rooted in oikos (house) and menein (to dwell or abide). Together, Elkumene speaks of God’s presence with us as we journey across His creation in unity and grace. We aim to live out that vision through the shared experience of travel.
